WASHINGTON (SR) - Many liberals are increasingly dismayed and angry with President-elect Barack Obama's Cabinet choices and policy reversals.
Among other things, since being elected Obama has reversed his campaign promises concerning tax cuts for the lower class, tax increases for the wealthy and Big Oil, and a quick withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq.
The President-elect's Cabinet choices have been largely centrist, angering long-time liberals like Barbara Streisand who had hoped for "at least a few" communists in key positions.
In response to this avalanche of liberal criticism, Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel issued this statement: "Now that the election is over, President-elect Obama is responsible for strengthening the U.S. economy and solidifying our military situation abroad. Unfortunately, his campaign positions would have accomplished none of these things, but they did get you to vote for him, and for that we are most grateful."
