GAZA (SR) - Along with spectacular fireworks celebrations in Australia, and coming New Year's shows in Asia, Europe, and the United States, regions of the Middle East are anticipating some of the most elaborate displays of pyrotechnics seen in years.
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said this year's show promises to be "spectacular," and said the best vantage point to catch the action would be "anywhere there's a rocket launcher" in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas leader Khaled Mashal seemed less enthused about tonight's show, saying he and his staff would be "staying in tonight, maybe playing some pool in someone's basement and having a few drinks."
