WASHINGTON (SR) - Vice President Joe Biden was frustrated by a series of questions from reporters on Monday after proclaiming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was "the mother of health care."
Biden made the statement at a campaign event in Philadelphia for congressional candidate Bryan Lentz. Afterward, reporters questioned the Vice President about Pelosi's maternal role:
Reporter: Vice President Biden, you say that Speaker Pelosi gave birth to health care. Who then was the father?
Biden: The father? Well, I'd say it would have been, ah, President Obama I guess.
Reporter: You're saying the President porked Speaker Pelosi?
Biden: Well, of course not!
Reporter: So who was the father of health care then?
Biden: OK, I see what you're doing here, hahaha....
Reporter: You made a definitive declaration, Mr. Vice President. Please tell us who was the father.
Biden: Seriously? How the hell would I know, maybe she was raped or something - I don't know.
Reporter: So, the father of health care was a rapist?
Biden: What?
Reporter: Mr. Vice President, you've advocated abortion in the case of rape or incest, should Speaker Pelosi have aborted health care in your opinion?
Biden: Well, I don't really know. Maybe. It's so big. Maybe...
Biden Assistant: That's it folks, no more questions!
